It’s a close competition, but Bobo and Ranae come through with a victory for Washington state – and the United States.

I stand by what I said in the previous post. After a little internet research on population density…

The U.S. has close to 321 million people in 3,794,100 square miles and Canada has 33.7 million people spread out over 3,855,100 square miles. That’s about 85 people per square mile in the U.S. and 3.4 people per square mile in Canada.

Which leads me to believe there are going to be a lot more sightings in the U.S. than Canada simply because there are so many people roaming around here and many more opportunities for people to come across the Big Guy while tromping the great outdoors.

However, that doesn’t necessarily mean there are more BF’s in the U.S. than Canada.

My personal guess is that as population expands (if this hasn’t happened already) in the U.S., more Bf’s will head up north–especially in the summer months. It might already be the case that there is a larger population of BF’s in Canada–but this is all just speculation based on what little I know about species being driven out of environments for survival. And since there aren’t exactly any census takers going tree to tree up north or here–it’s all speculation 🙂 But fun nevertheless.
