FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Researchers Revisit Hypnotizing Bigfoot Witnesses
4 Decades Later Hypnosis Plays a Part in Recall

Certified and Registered Hypnotist, Doug Meacham will present his findings at this month’s HopsSquatch, Bigfoot and Beer Speaker’s Series. Frank has had two significant Bigfoot encounters; one at age 10 in New York and another, almost face-to-face, was at the age 16 in Oregon. Hypnotist Doug Meacham has been able to help Frank retrieve incredible details including hair patterns and behavior. Several forensic-quality sketches of what Frank witnessed will be available at HopsSquatch, Sunday August 25, 2013 at the Lucky Lab Brew Pub, 915 SE Hawthorne Blvd, Portland, OR 97214 from 2-6pm.

Doug is a hypnotist in Gresham, OR and a member of the American Board of Hypnotherapy. During his presentation at HopsSquatch he will explain what Hypnosis really is and provide examples of how it has been used in the past and share his new ground-breaking process with a two-time witness.

This month’s event will include a presentation with Doug, a moderated question and answer period, previews of upcoming Bigfoot movie “Bigfoot Chronicles,” over $100 of cool Bigfoot swag and the chance to socialize with Bigfoot enthusiasts. This month’s event is sponsored by Off The Charts Games, Missing Link Toys and Ripley’s Believe it or Not.

  1. Goodfoot responds:

    “Hypnosis”? DANGER, Will Robinson!

  2. alan borky responds:

    Hyp-No-sis?

    Hyp-YES-sis!

Once the the orthodox avenues for collecting data’ve been mined why not?

Since many people reporting encounters with Sasquatch ghosts UFOs Nessie etc seem to enter an altered state of consciousness then maybe inducing an altered state’s exactly what’s required.

[Personally I’d love to see some of the remaining Roswell people being hypnotized before it’s too late].

In the end unless you recover some incontrovertible set of facts it’s just more data but better too much data than too little.

  3. DWA responds:

If people want to try this, well, sure, let them. Anything that’s done to try to tease out more stories potentially adds to the enormous pile of consistent eyewitness testimony, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

There is, however, already more than sufficient eyewitness testimony, backed by many footprint finds and allegedly every other kind of evidence an animal leaves, to have thoroughly engaged mainstream attention long, long ago. (By Patterson-Gimlin, at the latest.) That that hasn’t happened is a problem with scientists, not a problem with evidence.

In other words, this isn’t changing the game. It isn’t even yielding output justifying the effort.

But if people want to do it, well, OK.

  4. Goodfoot responds:

This approach is so fraught with danger I cannot believe people aren’t raising alarms.

“Hypnotic recall” nearly RUINED the UFO community. Well… if it were possible to ruin it any more than it already was, I mean.

A susceptible hypnotic person is a total tool in the hands of a hypnotist with an agenda. Been there, done that. Any skilled hypnotist can implant false memories in the mind of a good subject. DO THE RESEARCH.

The responsible Bigfoot community should be running SCREAMING from the mere prospect.

  5. Goodfoot responds:

THAT’S the hypnotist? He looks like a funeral director.

  6. DWA responds:

I don’t really see this approach fraught with anything with which the fringe haven’t already tarred the topic.

NAWAC continues its research unconcerned about the fringe. If they come up with proof, no one will care whether the Kardashian sisters got hypnotized to come up with stories.
