Monster-Hunting Tips
Posted by: Nick Redfern on August 10th, 2012
Over at EHow.co.uk, I have a tongue-firmly-in-cheek post on my 12 Top Tips to becoming a Cryptozoologist.
As I note in the post:
“When you were a kid, maybe you had dreams of making it as a rock-star. Perhaps your goal was a job on the telly. Or you thought about going into politics. Nah, scrap that last one. We all have ideas about what would make the perfect, dream-job. And some of them are stranger than others. Take cryptozoology, the domain of the adventure-fueled men and women who travel the UK in search of Nessie, big cats, Sasquatch and other bizarre and legendary beasts. How’s about monster-hunting for a career? If you’re up for it, here’s how to do it!”

Yep,
I would have been the kid that would have jumped all over cryptozoology if I thought I could have made even a meager living at it. As it was, while my university had a zoology department, I never saw anything even close–should have gone into marine biology too–thought about it, but very little courses available in the great state of Iowa and I apparently wasn’t motivated enough to move to the coasts…
I still have hope for taking up the career if a few other things pan out, so we’ll see…
