    YAWN.

Show producers are ruining Cryptozoology. So is Matt MONEYmaker.

Yeah, except these shows aren’t cryptozoology. They are reality TV. It doesn’t do much for the image of cryptozoologists, to be sure. It’s alllll about ratings and money…I think there’s viewers on this channel…and the demographic is not us here at this site.

I’m in a snarky mood today and all for hacking on the networks…they program for one thing: ratings which equals money. If enough “boobs” will watch four “researchers” tromping through the woods at night yelling and playing guitars and shooting off fireworks in the hope that it will draw in a hairy biped reported to be lurking the woods, then it means another season, merchandising and catchy phrases.

And yes, sadly, I’ve been one of the “boobs” stupid enough to watch, because I love this field, and with hope on the lottery odds that one day they’ll screw up and actually get footage of something tangible and authentic, other than a Bobosquatch.

Sorry. Comments have been closed.
