Vancouver Island Sasquatch Footage

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on June 13th, 2014

New purported Sasquatch footage posted to YouTube on June 11, 2014.

What do the Cryptomundians think?

I spent the past few days debating whether or not to post this video online and only decided to do so after showing the video to my father, who encouraged me to publish it.

This past Saturday I was enjoying a nature walk alone at the Strathcona Provincial Park on Vancouver Island when my walk was interrupted by a large rock thrown in my direction. I scanned the area thinking it was kids but saw nothing, so I continued along. I only made it a few steps though before I heard a loud cracking sound, like a branch being snapped from a tree or something. I turned and spotted something moving in the foliage. This something was on all fours and hiding behind some large ferns, I raised my arms and let out a yell (Thinking it was a bear and hoping to scare it off) but that’s when this something stood up. I instantly became overwhelmed with fear, this wasn’t a bear. It was more like a gorilla. As it turned and began to leave I quickly pulled out my DSLR and shot this video. The way it walked completely freaked me out, it was almost human. I cut the video after I lost track of it and honestly I didn’t want to hang around. I was concerned that their may have been more of these things as this one wasn’t huge in size, it seemed almost young and I was concerned that maybe an adult one of these was around.

I don't want my name known out of fear that my friends, family and co-workers may think that I’m crazy, so I created a new anonymous Gmail/YouTube account to post this. Please don’t contact this account, I don’t have any answers. All I know is that it was an unsettling incident and I’d like to move on with my life.

I think I have changed my opinion of hoax videos. There has been a long dry spell of nothing to click on except TV show promos, it is nice to see some “footage”. I’m almost sorry I groused so much when there was an abundance of them. We didn’t know our embarrassment of riches would come to an end eventually.

I think instead of picking them apart with extreme malice, we should pop open a few beers and praise the makers for their effort, and maybe offer them advice for their next outing.

I also highly recommend two or three beers into each one that we turn off the sound and narrate the story that unfolds.

For example, bobbing head bigfoot, here, has clearly had a very hard day. He is just trying to make it home after all of his soul-crushing misadventures. If he can make it to the couch and seriously veg out to the TV for the next twelve hours, he might be able to face tomorrow. He has clearly lost one of his shoes, probably in a humiliating episode similar to the principal in “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”. He knows if he can just power through a little longer there are several cheap beers and a half a bottle of disgusting wine left over from last Thanksgiving still in the back of the fridge, and, perhaps most importantly, two slices of old pizza in one of the pizza boxes at the end of the couch.

Bobbing head bigfoot has had such a bad day that he clearly no longer cares, and is probably muttering aloud to himself regardless of the stares of passers by. If the cameraman had approached any closer bobbing head bigfoot would have surely flipped him the bird and shouted obscenities. If the cameraman had approached even closer, bobbing head bigfoot would have handed him his ass on a platter (feeling an ecstatic cathartic release of violence, followed immediately by extreme apologetic remorse).

LOL! You know what I see? Someone trying to capitalize on the current Bigfoot craze. That is the dopiest walk I’ve ever seen and I can’t imagine an animal adept to its environment would walk ANYWHERE close to that.

  3. mandors responds:

The guy needs to practice the walk a little more. Not very fluid. Also, why do all the hoaxers walk left to right? Probably because of the Patterson footage, I’m guessing, but still…

  4. Wee Falorie Man responds:

The person who posted this on YouTube sure is being evasive! Why would his “friends, family and co-workers” think that he’s crazy? He’s not just telling a story, he’s got footage to back up what he’s saying; he could be accused of perpetrating a hoax, but it doesn’t really make sense for him to say that he’s afraid of being considered crazy.

Also, how would answering any questions on his YouTube account prevent him from moving on with his life? He claims that his sighting was too “unsettling” for him to provide any more information or answer any questions at all, but he wasn’t too unsettled to film the bigfoot as it was walking away nor was he too unsettled to post his footage on YouTube. His evasive behaviour seems very suspicious to me …

  5. Brad responds:

The whole “my family and friends would think I’m crazy” has become a cliché for hoaxers. It’s not true. If anything people would meet him with indifference, not look at him as crazy. Just a good way for a hoaxer to hide.

  6. sasquatch responds:

Even at this distance it looks like that stupid bigfoot costume you see all the time lately.

  7. PhotoExpert responds:

hoodoorocket–LOL Great commentary and nicely stated!

  8. moldt responds:

I think only those who have seen a bigfoot first hand should be able to comment. Yes it is a bigfoot yes I have seen bigfoots which is the only reason I know that this is a real bigfoot. By the way there is more than one bigfoot in video. The only reason that we saw the one is our human eyes are always drawn to movement
