Matt Bille, a cryptozoologist and writer known for his scientific approach in well-researched books such as 2006’s Shadows of Existence: Discoveries and Speculations in Zoology, has published his first novel, The Dolmen (Wolfsinger Publications, 2014).
The Dolmen is a cryptozoological horror novel with a dash of police procedural. “I wanted to explore what would really happen if a dangerous creature got loose in a modern city,” the author says. “What would police and the media really do?” He talked to police, scientists, and others to get the background of this fast-paced thriller right.

Tonight we’ll be discussing the upcoming documentary movie about Ohio’s Minerva Monster with director Seth Breedlove, producers Jesse Morgan and Alan Megargle, and the head of the Ohio based Genoskwa Project, researcher Paul Hayes.
In August of 1978 a small town in eastern Ohio was thrust into the spotlight when a local family sighted a “monster” in the woods behind their home. Over subsequent evenings they were repeatedly visited by the creature culminating in a late-night encounter that ended in local police being called in. The story blasted onto the front pages of newspapers across the state and into the consciousness of a nation. For weeks police, news crews, and scores of hunters descended on the town of Minerva with one common goal; to find the beast.
