Orang Pendek News Coming Soon!
Posted by: Craig Woolheater on November 7th, 2013
Lake Gunung Tujuh, the site of the Finding Bigfoot Sumatran expedition for the orang pendek.
I’ll publish my Sumatran field notes in the next day or two, and will have a very exciting announcement to go along with it. Keep your eyes peeled!
Oh yeah, and the Finding Bigfoot season premiere is this Sunday night at 10 pm on Animal Planet.
About Craig Woolheater
Co-founder of Cryptomundo in 2005.
I have appeared in or contributed to the following TV programs, documentaries and films:
OLN's Mysterious Encounters: "Caddo Critter", Southern Fried Bigfoot, Travel Channel's Weird Travels: "Bigfoot", History Channel's MonsterQuest: "Swamp Stalker", The Wild Man of the Navidad, Destination America's Monsters and Mysteries in America: Texas Terror - Lake Worth Monster, Animal Planet's Finding Bigfoot: Return to Boggy Creek and Beast of the Bayou.
Exciting news. At least I hope it is.
Thanks for whetting our appetites, Craig. So hungry…..
ORANG PENDEK ISN’T BIGFOOT, SO CUT THAT OUT!
Whoops. Did I leak…?
looking fwd to this
You’re such a tease….
The Orang Pendek is by far my #1 most likely large undiscovered homonid on the planet.
If this is a post from Adam Davies or Richard Freeman, I’m getting excited.
However, if it’s just some more promo crap from Matt, Booboo and the Finding Bigfoot “gang” I can only expect their normal less than zero new information.
In light of all the recent “results” one almost has to wonder just what species of bear the Orange pendak will turn out to be……
J/K!! I look forward to new insights pertaining to this creature.
Sounds very, very intriguing. Hope it’s good: If it turns out to be DNA or actual physical remains, or indeed a live specimen, then this will definitely be the year of the Cryptid: Ice age polar bears in the Himalayas, Zana turning out to be from a possible relict population of prehistoric Sub Saharan migrants, and now a breaking news event dealing with the Orang Pendek?
PLEEEZE Deliver
At the very least, it will be entertaining to watch.
The project is a joint one between Cliff myself and some Indonesian friends and colleagues. You wil be able to see its full results and description soon. It is a year of work. That is all I can say for now. Cliff financed the project and kindly asked me to be involved. So any of the results are his to break first.
By way of a coincidence I was thumbing through “Cryptozoology” by Chad Arment. On page 181, he reports from Charles A. Smith – International News Service Staff, Correspondent. The headline is as follows.
“Reported Find of Missing Link Will be Probed.
Sumatra Scene of Amazing Discovery
by noted French Explorer.
Strange Creature is Encountered on Trip.
Emits Wailing Cry and Runs Swiftly Into Forest at Sight of Man”
The description given by the witnesses is of an ape-man.
This report was dated November 9th, 1924.
Local Curmudgeon heard from….Craig, this is your sandbox, and I appreciate your hospitality, but this kind of “announcing the announcement” smacks of exactly the kind of overt self-promotion that triggers my involuntary gag reflex, and of which we’ve got far too much of in this field. Not in the same league, but it definitely smacks of the “I will reveal this when [insert ever-receding and never realized contingent event here.] My experience tells me that when somebody feels like they need to tell you that what they are about to tell you is “exciting”, it probably isn’t. Hope to be wrong on that here though.
Don’t hold your breath for anything worth while, if there was anything of significance we would have heard about it already. Why wouldn’t he tell us right off the bat what he has? Because he has nothing. Of course I hope I am wrong, but I doubt it.
