A Clear Look at the Freeman Bigfoot Footage
Posted by: Craig Woolheater on July 15th, 2016
Still ranks up there as one of the most compelling pieces of video evidence. This clip includes Paul’s examination and casting of the infant prints. The original casts are in my collection and are discussed in my book Sasaquatch: Legend Meets Science.

Paul Freeman was casting four tracks in the Blue Mountains area of Washington state, while the plaster dries he looks for more tracks by a water source, when a large male bigfoot takes three steps across a path.
Paul Freeman, a forestry worker, had previously had a Bigfoot sighting near Walla Walla, Washington on June 10, 1982, which he described as being nearly 8 ft, tall and covered in reddish-brown body hair.

Some say this is fairly clear evidence, some say that a large hairy figure walking in the distance is an easy hoax for humans to create, is one right, the other wrong?
As a hard-core skeptic, I say yes, one is right, the other wrong.
What say you?
I’m keen to know what you think.
All the best
still to me, one of the best videos to discuss if its legit or not…. the track thing is really interesting…
the thing seems to walk oddly…. and it looks real weird, almost like no neck or something…. and a bit stiff walking.
no clue…
but to me as a average dude who’s into this stuff, its one of the best pieces I’ve seen… however it could be hoaxed… who knows? (hope its not)
maybe some of the expert veterans can/will chime in and share their expertise π
Kudos to MK Davis for improving the video. It’s most likely genuine as the Professor has the tracks in his collection and the video was shot at the same time. The video is about what you would expect from a specimen who has realized a human is in his area. He wants to know who it is and what’s he doing to decide if he needs to intimidate him out of the area. The physical view of the specimen is about what I would expect with the odd body movement and the shape of the head and neck. Yes it could be hoaxed but I don’t think so in this case.
Paul Freeman stuck his neck out to get this video perhaps not realizing how dangerous this species can be. If you’re reading this and thinking about doing some research on your own it’s okay. Just be aware this is a large predatory animal who’s capable of harm and will defend its territory. I suggest you don’t go alone and go heavily armed. My best
@airforce… interesting ideas… i gotta disagree with you on something tho… if its a “predator” and “defending” its territory…
and it knows freeman is there…. by smell or hearing or sight…. if it was a “predator” and “defending” its territory… it would have bum rushed him… or squared up to face him…
like other animals do….
but it doesn’t. it just continues as if he’s not there and disappears into the woods…
the questions is: could this video have been hoaxed?
I think it could be hoaxed… not saying it is, but the possibility is there.
the movement isn’t the same as PG, which makes you wonder.
Also if its like you claim, it would have looked at him or something… but it doesn’t.
great video, IMO one of the best to discuss… but still too many questions.
It doesn’t “continue as of he’s not there”; it looks to make sure he’s not following. If it had “continued as if he (wasn’t) there” it would never have looked at him. It most definitely looks at him.
If it had staged a bluff attack or even a real one, it would have run the risk of more humans coming to find it and kill it. Freeman had displayed no aggression against him, so he showed none in return. Just a glance to make sure all was safe, and it was on its way.
What people think is “weird movement”, I believe is just the way a bipedal creature of that sort of incredible bulk would move.
I still think this is one of the best videos out there… especially one to discuss… (and we all don’t agree which is ok)
good foot – sorry my man… I don’t see it that way…
here’s why:
IMO The “thing” wasn’t there long enough to see if there was any aggression… an animal typically considers it as aggression when a human closes the distance closer to them, like freeman did… but obviously he wasn’t looking to hurt the thing.
More important for me is your last sentence. IMO it moves VERY differently than the one in the PG film. If you take the PG film as legit, then THAT movement is the basis for ANY bigfoot.
However, anyone with half a brain can see this one moves very differently than the PG one… it also looks slightly different with NO NECK… So either one is fake, or both are fake, which is it?
You can’t have a species walking in a TOTALLY different manner. The mechanic’s are the same. Something doesn’t add up.
One could be a subspecies of the other. And I obviously don’t know, but it occurred to me the Bigfoot had been watching Freeman for some time prior to this and got a “read” on him then. There could be several “tells” that Bigfoots are able to read.
And if they have infrasound at their disposal, they would have little to fear after making a human physically ill and blindly terrified, making pursuit a mute point: “You thought THAT was bad? Wait’ll I crank it up to 11!”
@goodfoot – ya, it could very well have been… he did say he heard some bushes rustling or something before the encounter….
interestingly tho, he said it comes there a lot by the tracks…. wonder if he’s gone back since and if it’s been there still?
real interesting thing is that it disappeared within a minute of leaving the frame… he couldn’t find it… no bushes moving anymore etc. that did seem odd to me at the end… you notice it?
I agree there are visual differences between Patti and this figure. What if it is a variance in hair length? When you freeze the image, the top of the “creature’s” head is the same cone shape as Patti. What if the lack of neck is really hair growth filling the space between the nape and the jawline? Just a hypothesis.
Also, what if the gate differences are do to terrain. Patti was walking in a flat riverbed. This figure seems to be walking on uneven grown, and looks to be watching where it steps.
Last, airforce, construkt and goodfoot, I’ve done some trail running, and animals will kind of posture themselves. I’ve seen coyotes do it. They don’t attack, but they emerge purposefully out of the brush. It’s almost like they saying “hey, I’m here, you better know it.” So maybe it’s that kind of situation. The Bigfoot itself doesn’t want be bum rushed or stumbled upon, so it shows itself.
dconstrukt:
Good question. Looking Freeman up, he died of complications of diabetes in 2003.
yeah… just wish had had more videos… they seem to be the best ones to discuss… you can see we aren’t at each others throats discussing this one LOL
cuz its really one of the best.
not sure about the hair thing but you can’t see it long enough or close enough to know for sure. its a possibility but it looks like the shoulders are really high up, especially vs the pg one.
the gait? ya, maybe… i’ve thought about that… but then PG one was walking on sharp rocks and didn’t hesitate… so it made me wonder a bit.
look at foot prints around :49 and 2:53…looks like it is dragging his left foot, maybe hurt, may explain why he is moving awkwardly, may be why he is still in the area.
phjggyb:
And P-G’s “Patty” has a herniated muscle in her right thigh. The thing -POPS- with every step. NOT something a hoaxer would ever think to do, IMO.
Makes me wonder how frequent permanent leg injuries are in Bigfoots. Not to mention those feet.
So much conjecture, so inconclusive … IMHO.
@ thescaly1 – perhaps yes, but
1. we aren’t insulting or arguing with each other (for once)
2. we are actually having an intelligent discussion about one of the best videos on the topic…
I think thats a win win for us π
wonder if there’s more to this story or video?
