Interesting video of an unknown creature in Thailand’s Mekong River.

Looks like a dying catfish to me.
Definitely some sort of dying fish. Calling this a monster is misleading.
Unusual kind of fish.
I think that this is a video of 2 fish fighting. The bigger fish looks like it’s trying to swallow the smaller one, but it can’t quite do it.
Couple of things. It obviously looks authentic.
Whatever it is, appears to be near death.
Nobody had the guts to go in after it? All those people there and not one person would go in?
Wee — That’s an excellent observation. When I watched it again with that in mind, that is exactly what it looks like. Somebody bit off more than they could chew.
WTF?!
interesting video, i like this video purely for the fact that a lot of people witnessed this
I wish I had money to go on cryptid expeditions lol. Interesting video nonetheless.
It’s definitely a squatch.
All that’s missing is a bobbing Godzilla this is just funny
Dr. Darren Naish says it’s a fish. He should know. He knows every damn fish there is.
Mike, that also explains why nobody bothered to jump in the river. I presume that most of the folks who were watching the fish are local people who are very familiar with them. They were probably just curious to see if the bigger fish could manage to swallow the smaller one.
Shill, it’s funny that Darren Naish correctly identified one of the fish, but apparently failed to notice that there are, in fact, 2 fish in the video.
There seem to be two parts to this footage; a first ‘windy’ part, and a second ‘still water’ part.
The first part could be film of anything. It could be a fish, and there are a variety of animals in the Mekong that could be the culprit, including a giant catfish and a freshwater stingray – both of which grow extremely large. What it is doing is anyone’s guess and the footage is so short it’s almost inexplicable.
The second part, which I think the first part is meant to lead us into, is of much calmer water, in a completely different landscape, but with the same sound track; this raises a ‘hoax’ flag to me immediately. In addition, the object in the water resembles no fish I recognise at all (and I like fish, trust me), seems very one-dimensional as though it is a piece of painted plastic or a leaf, leaves no trace of bulk below the water and acts to me as though it is something on a stick being waved about in an attempt to confuse the issue.
It’s a NO from me.
This is a video of a fish lying on its side and gulping air. Lots of fish do this including types of large carp or catfish. The fact that the spectators on the audio are laughing and not overly reacting is another clue that nothing that unusual is happening here.
