    It occurs to me that the very last thing a governmental, extra-governmental or supra-governmental entity would want to do is call attention to UFO encounters by paying the witness a visit. It validating, is it not?

    So why couldn’t it be the case that MIBs show up to reenforce the questionable notion that UFOs ARE FROM OUTER SPACE, when plenty of good alternative explanations exist.

    Any thoughts on this?

    That’s a good point. I don’t think the MIB ever say one way or another but it sounds like the people who encounter them come up with that suggestion.

    The MIB have always been intriguing, and it seems like early on at least they were suppressing evidence and trying to shut people up.

    Not sure I buy the devil link–why would a devil care if people had evidence and encounters with UFO’s? It would just add to the mayhem if they did. No, I think that was a case of a religious man inscribing his own reference into an encounter with something strange.
