Update: Virginia Bigfoot Video

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on March 30th, 2007

Cryptomundo reader Morgoth has tipped us off as to the costume used to make the Virginia Bigfoot video posted yesterday on Cryptomundo.

Here is the Virginia Bigfoot video to refresh your memory.

Apparently, the Sasquatch costume used in the video is this suit offered for sale by TheHorrorDome.com.

In the photo of the Sasquatch costume below, you can see the same exaggerated long arms and short legs exhibited by the Bigfoot shown in the video.

Sasquatch: The Costume

Long thought of as folk lore, the Sasquatch Creature is now known to exist. The pictures shown here prove Sasquatch is no myth. Just how long he has lived is unclear. Some claim he’s been around for centuries, while scientists state he’s no older than 50. No matter his age, the destructive force of Big Foot is clear. The last time he roamed these parts he left the mountainous area and wiped out many villages. Naturally, all residents in the area expressed concern about the latest sighting.

Costume comes complete with a Deluxe Over Sized Mask with helmet that allows the user to gain an extra 12 inches in height by looking out of the neck. The costume also comes with Hand/Arm Extenders, Sasquatch Feet, Muscle suit pading (sic) and Sasquatch Costume with attached latex chest peice (sic).TheHorrorDome.com

As far as the videographer’s comment that “It had to be at least 7 and a half foot tall”, the website has a height comparison photo of the Sasquatch costume compared to a woman, and the listed height for the Sasquatch costume is 7′ 6″.

Adding to the height of the Sasquatch costume is the fact that the wearer’s eyeholes are placed in the upper chest area, as shown in the above photo of the Sasquatch costume.

Coincidence? I think not!

That suit actually looks pretty impressive from the pictures, but just looks ridiculous in the video. Makes Patty look all the more convincing, even being a few decades old.

  2. Ayala responds:

I wonder if the feet leave prints of any kind. Thanks Craig. 🙂

  3. greywolf responds:

If your going to do this you should also buy a bullet proof vest..pretty dumb idea..someday some one will panic and shoot the nut in the suit.

  4. Ceroill responds:

    Cute! Good detecting Morgoth!

  5. gridbug responds:

From the waist up: yup. From the waist down: nope. 🙂

As a hunter, this new bigfoot costume intrigues me. I have a comment, a suggestion, and a question that stem from the web site offering this suit for sale.

My comment is that we who hope to find true Sasquatch video evidence are going to have to sift through piles of garbage now that a relatively cheap suit is available to the public. The realism of the suit leaves a lot to be desired, but as many of you point out the shakiness of most bigfoot photographers keeps authentic suits questionable anyways.

My question is whether or not this new suit would be a commodity for scientific Sasquatch research? I mean this from the angle that as duck hunters, deer hunters, and even predator hunters use decoys in their chase, could this new suit be used the same?

To a human this thing looks really stupid when examined, but from 100 plus yards away a 7 1/2 ft object like this might draw interest from similar creatures. As is often noticed that Sasquatch seem to travel in twos and threes, this may be an option that has not yet been tried. Even pairing up it with vocalization recordings may produce some astounding results.

Just thoughts from a first time poster. Trying to take an annoying side bar and provide positive spin on it.

    Planet of the Apes Redux.

  8. ladd responds:

That costume resembles the immense bronze Sasquatch sculpture in Okanogan, BC, Canada now being shown on Coast to Coast.

  9. bill green responds:

thanks… for this new update about the so called va bigfoot film footage, its really not right when people hoax bigfoot film footages it should be illegal. youtube should always check with people with the authenticity of these film footages on their site. its just my opinion. thanks bill

  10. 12inchPianist responds:

But here’s the real question. Can it lick it’s own elbow?

  11. MBFH responds:

No wonder that in the video Sas was looking at the tree tops – the wearer was peering out of the neck! Still, at least the video makers already have a Hallowe’en costume for this year.

  12. steveg3474 responds:

Who the hell has 550 bucks for a prank? It would be funny though to sneak up on people in lovers lanes.
