As Animal Plant prepares for Monster Week, Dr. Mark Evans is taking viewers on an investigative journey about the mysterious Himalayan biped known as the Yeti in “Yeti or Not.”
Evans said viewers can expect “many surprises” from the Animal Planet special.
“I had preconceived ideas on how it might go and what I was expecting to find, and I can genuinely say I ended up in a place where I didn’t expect to be at the end of it,” he said. “Certainly my views on the Yeti mystery have changed quite considerably as a result of making this film.”
In the special, Evans travels to Nepal in search of remains that are rumored to be from Yetis. On his travels, he examines the DNA from these and various samples in an attempt to solve the myth with science.
“Yeti or Not” premieres May 29 on Animal Planet.

After the Mermaids b.s. and the megalodon crap on Animal Planet (and don’t even get me started on the Dyatlov incident), there is no way I’m wasting time on this program.
Animal Planet is not interested in putting out anything factual–just fictional garbage using the guise of “documentary” style shows.
If they’d billed this stuff as entertainment like a crappy sci-fi movie I might have been in, but this stuff just ticks me off…in case you couldn’t tell.
I’ve got better things to do with my cryptozoological time…
its on in 30 minutes… i’m going to check it out for a bit and see whats up… but I don’t have high hopes…
watching it now… its actually really interesting… seems like they pickup where the sykes findings left off… the hybrid polar bear theory… very interesting tho…
I wish I would have known this was going to be a two hour show about brown bears.
I wrote this programme off before I saw it as I had an arbitrary view that Dr Evans was an arch sceptic. However I was pleasantly surprised despite some reservations. It had real content and was well worth watching (imo), though his delivery was rather heavy.
Springheeled jack. Did you watch the same programme as I did ? I intend to watch it again to study it, why don’t you ?
very interesting show… the scenery was breathtaking…
i mean… they picked up where the sykes show/study left off it seems. He had 2 different ideas, both make sense… the denisovans and the bears…
it sounds plausible, that in such a REMOTE area… way up in the mountains, far away from much civilization, they could have lived there un-touched by man…
if you see just how remote of an area it is… and how high up it is… it makes sense… then combined with the DNA of all the people showing the mutation from denisovan’s on the high altitude stuff… it makes more sense.
are they still alive somewhere up there?
who the hell knows.
would be really interesting to find out for sure.
the show was very interesting, aside from the breathtaking scenery… he shows the science of his position…. so everything he’s saying he’s backing it up with proof to support his “case”…
THIS… this is something the bigfoot community is SEVERELY lacking (understatement of the year)… as are many of the people who post here. You guys could learn something from watching this show before yapping off how bigfoot is real and everyone must believe you (show the data and evidence to support your position and maybe people will).
You don’t have to believe this guys position, but he’s backing everything up with data and proof. If you believe otherwise, state your position AND back it up with data and proof to support it, otherwise put a sock in it! 🙂
