In 2001 The Oak Cliff Foundation purchased the Texas Theatre and began looking for a new permanent tenant. Several areas of the building were renovated and upgraded by the OCF. The Texas Theatre was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. In 2010, The Oak Cliff Foundation leased the theater to Aviation Cinemas, Inc. Aviation Cinemas was quick to jump start operations and continued renovations. The theatre has garnered awards for Best Movie Theater in Dallas by The Dallas Observer and been nominated as Best Movie Theater, Best Music Venue and Best cocktail In Dallas by D Magazine.

On Sunday night, June 9, several of us in the Cryptomundo crew (myself, Lyle Blackburn and Nick Redfern) will be attending the screening of Bobcat Goldthwait’s Bigfoot film Willow Creek, with Bobcat in attendance.
The screening will be at the Historic Texas Theatre, yep, that’s right…
The Texas Theatre is a movie theater and Dallas Landmark located in the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas, Texas. It gained historical fame for being the place Lee Harvey Oswald, the man suspected of killing President John F. Kennedy and Dallas police officer J. D. Tippit, was arrested after a brief fight.Wikipedia
Cryptomundo will give away a pair of tickets to the screening to one lucky Cryptomundian to attend the screening in our party. This is only for two general admission tickets. You have to get yourself to Dallas and find a place to crash while here. But you will get to go to dinner with the Cryptomundo crew before the screening, hang with us at the screening, and possibly get to meet Bobcat Goldtwait.
How do you win you ask? Submit your reasons why we should pick you to attend in the comments section. Get creative, submit a video, whatever.
We will pick the best response submitted by this Sunday night, May 19th, at midnight Central.
About Craig Woolheater
Co-founder of Cryptomundo in 2005.
I have appeared in or contributed to the following TV programs, documentaries and films:
OLN's Mysterious Encounters: "Caddo Critter", Southern Fried Bigfoot, Travel Channel's Weird Travels: "Bigfoot", History Channel's MonsterQuest: "Swamp Stalker", The Wild Man of the Navidad, Destination America's Monsters and Mysteries in America: Texas Terror - Lake Worth Monster, Animal Planet's Finding Bigfoot: Return to Boggy Creek and Beast of the Bayou.
Sounds like an interesting film. I’m in Ft Worth these days, so that would be right next door.
Well, seeing there is such an influx of request for this…. I nominate Cullan Hudson ;p
My best buddy and I are teachers in Tennessee, who are both into Cryptozoology. With the school year ending, if we win these tickets, we plan to take a road trip to see the film. At the halfway point, we will take a detour to Fouke, Arkansas, to see where The Legend of Boggy Creek transpired. Since my field is English and his is Science, we may even write about our journey a la Three Men Seeking Monsters!
