Posted by: Loren Coleman on April 5th, 2008

The above drawing of the William Roe encounter’s Sasquatch was used to illustrate Ivan T. Sanderson’s men’s magazine article detailing Roe’s sighting. From the initials of the artist in the right hand corner, they do not appear to match Morton Kunstler’s. The closeup of the Roe drawing done by Kunstler in Sanderson’s 1961 ABSM book […]

A close-up view of the head and neck of a 120-million-year-old Sinosauropteryx fossil (top) shows imprints around the body that have long been believed to be early versions of feathers. Cryptomundo correspondent Adam Campbell sends along this sighting of a Yeren: I saw a Yeren between Guilin and Kunming in China, in October 1995. I was on a train travelling at night at about 20 mph when the Yeren put it’s hand through the window and grabbed a bottle of beer off the table next […]

Hillary’s Yeti Debunking Lives On

Posted by: Loren Coleman on April 3rd, 2008

Sir Edmund Hillary recently died, and yet his legacy of Yeti debunking continues onward, even now through his associates. The Telegraph of Calcutta, India has published a subtle little article recalling in glowing terms Hillary’s damaging Yeti investigations, which were set up skeptically, versus open-mindedly, from the very start. In the article, “Climber recalls days […]

Sometimes everyone wants to jump on the bandwagon. Sometimes people are just in the right place at the right time. What is this episode all about? Tony Healy’s and Paul Cropper’s The Yowie: In Search of Australia’s Bigfoot has made these hairy hominoids quite popular in their own country and much more well-known around the […]

Too Much Fooling

Posted by: Loren Coleman on April 2nd, 2008

My brief editorial in the wake of this year’s April Fool’s Day is that there was entirely too much fooling around. None of the jokes were overly interesting or even intelligent. Most of the ones I read were downright stupid. Perhaps, a random few (e.g. the “Happy Valley Horror”?) were marginally funny. By the end […]

Orange Raccoons, Dover Demons & Green Eyes

Posted by: Loren Coleman on April 2nd, 2008

It’s been called an “orange,” a “blond,” and a “red” raccoon.
