Our Life with Bigfoot

Posted by: Christopher Noël on March 11th, 2014

most Sasquatch can take care of themselves—or else they would not have survived alongside our own species for thousands of years—others are vulnerable to great harm. As this book will make clear, these creatures occasionally engage in certain consistent routines at places where they feel safe, where they have come to trust our peaceful intentions.

Tracking the Sasquatch

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on March 11th, 2014

Rene Dahinden is probably Canada’s only full-time sasquatch hunter. Since 1957 the Swiss immigrant’s sole pursuit has been to seek out the legendary hairy giant of the B.C. forest. He’s taken hundreds of footprint casts and owned a share of the world’s only Sasquatch film, but has never managed to catch a glimpse of the beast. Even so, Dahinden is convinced the sasquatch is real. “I will keep on searching ’til I find the damn thing,” he tells CBC Television’s The Fifth Estate in 1976.

Plesiosaur Peril and the Prehistoric Survivor Paradigm

Posted by: Scott Mardis on March 11th, 2014

Vertebrate paleontologist Darren Naish has posted a wonderful article on the probable behavior and lifestyles of plesiosaurs at his Scientific American blog, Tetrapod Zoology. This is obviously of interest to those in cryptozoology with questions regarding what we know about real plesiosaurs versus speculation about “long necked sea monsters”. Dr. Naish himself does not endorse the “relict plesiosaur” theory but is open minded to the giant long necked seal idea.

Exists Review, Fresh on My Mind

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on March 11th, 2014

My thoughts fresh from the screening…

Well, I have to say, and I told Jane Fleming, one of the film’s producers who was in attendance at the screening, that this movie is right there with Bobcat Goldthwait’s film, Willow Creek, as far as being the best Bigfoot movie of all time!

One film, Willow Creek, doesn’t even show Bigfoot, while Exists has Bigfoot all over it!

It Came From the UFO? The Creature-Lights Connection

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on March 10th, 2014

ufowolfndg

One question I hear a lot from radio callers, blog readers and conference attendees is whether I think that unknown, upright canine creatures are related to UFOs. It’s actually a concept that’s been around for some time and is also asked in regard to Bigfoot and other cryptids. My usual answer is that while I don’t have any reports from witnesses who’ve seen a dogman hopping directly off a UFO (although I know there are a few cases where people have claimed this about Bigfoot), it just so happens that places where mystery creatures abound are also often UFO hotspots.

Bigfoot Infrasound: Likely or Long Shot?

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on March 10th, 2014

An ongoing debate about Bigfoot revolves around the issue of infrasound, or sounds that are of such low frequency that humans can’t hear them. Elephants and whales are examples of animals that use infrasound to communicate over long distances. Thunderstorms and even wind can also produce infrasound. Other animals, such as pigeons, seem to be capable of detecting these infrasonic sounds. This may explain why some animals seem able to predict earthquakes—they sense the low-frequency sound of a quake before it can be physically felt.

But the big question remains—can Bigfoot produce infrasound?

“The most famous photograph has now been shown to be a fake, but could there be an unknown mammal or even reptile of large dimension swimming in a Scottish lake? Sure there could. That we don’t know about? Sure there could. Who say’s no?”
