Satire: Sasquatch Capture Disappointingly Easy

Posted by: John Kirk on May 21st, 2014

Amazing how to some, the lives of a lot of us here is a mere caricature and the object of derision. I do know, however, we will have the last laugh. It’s just a matter of time. Sasquatch can’t stay blurry forever, one day it has to come into focus.

Sea Serpent Sighted by U.S. Coast Guard Training Ship Crew

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on May 20th, 2014

It was 1996, in the mid-Atlantic, aboard a U.S. Coast Guard training ship.

“The crew have this thing in sight — and it’s only a ‘thing’ — for about 25 minutes,” O’Neill said. “It’s circling around their ship — nobody logs it; nobody reports it to anyone.”

Sasquatch Days 2014

Tourism Harrison Hot Springs and the Sts:ailes nation are jointly presenting Sasquatch Days on June 7th and 8th. The activities are just too many for me to detail here, but you can look at the link to peruse all the attractions that are part of this festival. I do want to give a shout out to my really good friends and sasquatch bros Thomas Steenburg and Bill Miller who will have a booth and be making presentations. They are both really approachable and enjoy talking to anyone about the ‘Squatch. Pay them a vist and you won’t be disappointed.

Mask Associated With Sasquatch Lore Returned to B.C. First Nation

Posted by: John Kirk on May 19th, 2014

The tradition of sasquatch was transmitted to us by the First Nations of British Columbia. In particular, the Chehalis or Sts’ailes nation who reside near Harrison Mills, were the providers of much of the early sighting reports that J. W. Burns prolifically documented for posterity. I am extremely pleased about the repatriation of a sasquatch mask created by the late Ambrose Point to the Chehalis people.

GODZILLA: The Return Of The King, And The Good, Old-Fashioned Monster Movie

Posted by: Monster Island News on May 18th, 2014

As I left the Cinemark 16 Theater at the Victor Valley Mall this evening I knew that I had just about everything I needed to write this review of Gareth Edwards’ “Godzilla” swirling around in my head just waiting to explode. I honestly hadn’t had that much fun at the movies in years.

Bob Gimlin: A Squatcher and a Gentleman

Bob Gimlin is wise, as well as kind. Every time I hang out with the dude, I appreciate him even more. Here I am (above) at the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center with Bob in early 2014, where he gave a brilliant account of his experience with Roger Patterson at the time the famous bigfoot footage of “Patty” was taken.

What could lure Bigfoot into the open to silence skeptics for good?

One Race, Many “Reservations”

Posted by: Kirk Sigurdson on May 15th, 2014

In the eyes of Native Americans that I grew up with in rural Oregon, we are all living on a reservation of sorts, even though the psychological borders and fences tend to escape our attention. If we can’t see the forest for the trees, how are we supposed to see the prison for the bars?
