Harley Hoffman Bigfoot Video

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on October 9th, 2013

The video was uploaded to YouTube on April 8, 2006.

The subject, Bigfoot, Sasquatch, whatever, captured in the video looks very life-like, not like a man in a suit.

Claimed by some to be the best Bigfoot/Sasquatch footage other than the Patterson/Gimlin film.

The Harley Hoffman Bigfoot film shows detail uncommon in most fake Bigfoot hoax films. It was shot in British Columbia in 2001 under unknown circumstances. That seems to be the biggest problem with this film.

Hoffman has not spoken publicly since he shot the film and we know little about him. He and his brother seem to be more eccentric then Todd Standing. For example, Haley’s brother once had a website trying to prove the existence of Santa Claus! This is all strange, except this film.

The quality and resolution is outstanding, and not your garden variety blobsquatch. Features of hair length and color are visible on this video. Why would cheap hoaxers be concerned with such detail similar to the Patterson film

This film has detail and it is very similar to the Patterson Gimlim Film. The major detail of the film that has always convinced me of it possibly being real is the width of the back with deltoids and triceps definition and a clear spine seen on the back. I will let the images and video demonstrate this.

This is not a cheap monkey suit. If all they wanted was a few seconds of video to hoax, there is way too much going on here for their basic needs.sasquatchevidence.com

Amazingly, today I discovered we had never posted this video here on Cryptomundo. It has been referenced in the comments section however:

Did anyone else notice Harley Hoffman’s Bigfoot video is on YouTube as well? (It’s the one called “BIGFOOT Video WTF Insane!!!”) I’d never heard of it until today… personally, it reminded me of the Freeman footage, though I was immediately struck by how much it reminded me of the Patterson/Gimlin subject. If it’s a guy in a suit, it’s a pretty good job.

Anyone got the lowdown on this one? šŸ™‚gridgug

Try looking up the Harley Hoffman video on Youtube; itā€™s got some Patty-esque features (no neck, ā€œmoving muscles,ā€ and seemingly short hair).AtomicMrEMonster

Oh come off it. Thatā€™s only in view for a second or two but even that is enough to see itā€™s a fake. The costume isnā€™t even tight fitting, the hair is longer than the P/G subject, the head is far too big in comparison to the width of the shoulders (a dead easy suit giveaway) etc etc etc.

Why donā€™t we see it clearly, even at a distance? Because the movements would give the game away to even the gullibleā€¦.thatā€™s why.

Patterson ā€˜broke all the rulesā€™ that hoaxers stick to yet his film lives on while the hoaxes donā€™tLyndon

I saw that video yesterday too. As I wrote Iā€™m 30-40% convinced of the P-G film, and Iā€™m not saying I believe completely that this other video is real.

But I too, felt there were some strong ressemblances, in the posture of the creature, and also the type of hair.

Iā€™ll say something in favor of the P-G film: those other ape suits that have been shown here, including the one used by the BBC, lack a very crucial factor to match Patty, and itā€™s not just the length of the hairs, but the sheen, the lustrous coat that seems to come from a live animal. Those other suits? you can plainly see that is fake hair, they have no luster, they donā€™t reflect the light of the sun. That is a very important thing in the P-G film and we shouldnā€™t overlook it.

And this new video has some of that too. For about a second I admit; itā€™s way too short and it conspicously shows the creature amid the trees so you never have a complete shot of it (unlike the P-G, which IF a fake, was much bolder in its attempt to fool the audience)

So this brings me to a question to you fellow crypto-hobbyists: After 40 years, which other video evidence could be compared (or even trump) the P-G film from its position of Best Evidence? Any suggestions?red_pill_junkie

No one to this day knows anything about this Harley Hoffman character. Is he a real person, who knows?

Is the video legit, or is it a hoax?

Dead giveaway as a fake: There’s no torso. You can clearly see the leg (R or L doesn’t matter) lifting to take a step in the picture. From where that leg is, if you trace back to where the hip would be, it’s almost in the middle of the subject’s back. This tells me it’s an oversized suit worn by an average sized man. Look at Patty. Lots of torso. This lack of torso is why the subject looks so squat and hunched over. Dismissed.

  2. hoodoorocket responds:

This one is new to me.

The clip would benefit from stabilization. There’s enough image quality here for that.

I get a robotmonster impression of bagginess around the legs of the second shot of it where its further off. Stabilization might allow the mind to register whether this impression is correct.

  3. hoodoorocket responds:

The sheen has been remarked upon and I like the sheen- it’s probably real animal fur (pelts) or real human hair (wigs), but the fur delineation is not describing muscular/skeletal anatomy as some believe, it is simply defining the edges of clumps of fur.

I agree with Peltboy25, the torso is too short, the shape is formed by buildups of form covered with fur. Very dubious anatomy with a very pretty fur frosting to distract us.

I do have a problem the way the fur lies on the back of the neck, it is sticking up the way it does because it is either moving against the direction of the pelt (i.e. that cat skin is not positioned the same direction it laid on the cat) or else the fur is too long for the locomotion of that spot (meaning it’s the first day that long fur has been on that neck or else it would have been rubbed away and replaced with shorter fur), or both.

Don’t know what we are looking at, but apparently I am forming an opinion, lol.

  4. Ploughboy responds:

And here we are without FB/FB to tell us!

Either a Sasquatch or a danged good imitation of one is all I’ll say.

Oh, and the angle of the lower leg on lifting? Spot on.

  5. edsbigfoot responds:

Cool…the muscle under the left shoulder looks real that’s for sure, its either built into the suit, or a bodybuilder in a suit, or one strong animal. If that kind of muscle is real I wouldn’t want to mess with it that’s for sure, man or beast….or, semi-man-beast…

  6. sasquatch responds:

What some of you are interpreting as the right leg swinging up in the back could actually be a misinterpretation because of a twir or weed stalk sticking up in the foreground-it is bent at an angle that suggests a knee bending on the subjects right leg…

This thing could actually just be really thick.

Well, that said; it could be a guy in a costume made from a black bear pelt…the back of the neck has always struck me as odd.

I do appreciate the non phony look of the hair/fur tho…and the left shoulder looks good, as well as the forwarward jut of the head and bend of the back.

At the 10 second mark you get a nice profile-Very flat face like Patty.

Not as good as PG film tho’, but wish we’d see more like this than the usual easily dismissed garbage.

If fake at least some true effort went into this.

  7. cryptokellie responds:

    A few questions arise with this footage;

The footage is very short with choppy editing once again, as things are about to get interesting when the figure is just moving into full plain view – cut…why?

The figure seems bent over and resembles the stances used in 1940’s and 1950’s Hollywood gorilla impersonators.

The hair at the nape is tufted and resembles the aforementioned suits where the head piece overlaps the upper torso.

The footage is way too short to get a clear impression of any musculature underneath the fur moving as it should.

The inane, pseudo-scientific narration recalls (for those of us who are older) the challenges of Criswell Predicts as in “Can you prove this didn’t happen?”, while not offering anything of substance or detail.

Add to this the complete vacuum of information on Mr. Hoffman and his one time website trying to prove the existence of Santa Claus and I think you have your answer.

My first guess…gorilla suit. My second guess…gorilla suit. My third guess…half a gorilla suit, which is why the footage is abruptly edited and presented in choppy bits so as to eliminate the wardrobe failures of the figure being seen out in the open.

  8. dconstrukt responds:

    my 2 cents?

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that the object in the video isn’t even there… its all computerized.

    look at this video.

it was shot and edited REALLY well.

    by some pro’s.

look at the ‘thing’… its just a few frames long.

the movement doesn’t seem natural to me, nor does the look of it….

if we use PG as the reference point, this has questions…

  9. johnp3907 responds:

The clip ends by telling us to visit searchforsanta.com. Please do. It tells you all you need to know about this clip.

  10. hairybeast responds:

I see a helmet head join, that doesn’t move if there is a head turn. human knee angle.[sorry]
human Asian wigs? hips way high, arms not long enough, and finally, it doesn’t cover enough ground when it strides. its not fast enough.
it shore is pretty do, pah, has a purty mouth.

  11. mandors responds:

Sad to say, this video makes you appreciate the useless “annoying” extra footage of complete sighting videos, the whole shaking camera, birthday party, “hey, Bubba, what the $%& is that!” stuff. When you edit something, add music, cut in and out, it makes the whole thing look fabricated. You can really see this problem in the next “baby” Bigfoot video on this site.

That said, the walk is pretty good for 2006. I can’t remember if anybody talked about “compliant gates” back then. There are issues. It doesn’t reappear after it crosses the first tree which is odd. Also, to me the back of the neck looks like a turned up collar.

  12. johnp3907 responds:

Harley Hoffman? Hutch Hoffman? Bigfoot? Santa? Hutch uses a still from this Bigfoot clip as his Youtube avatar.

    2+2=……(you do the rest)

  13. Dr Kaco responds:

Everyone knows that Santa is NOT real….the Easter Bunny told me so! ;p

  14. alan borky responds:

Despite repeated attempts I’ve failed to isolate the moment it happens but there’s definitely a brief moment when it looks as if the top half’s film of a gorilla mounted on film of a pair of spindly human legs which’d explain why the purported Bigfoot’s crouched to the point of being doubled over in an almost unbelievably low to the ground posture which contrasts markedly with Patty’s imperious elegantly effortlessly towering upright muscular stride.

It also seems to me the topmost section looks for all the world like shots of a human scalp mounted on film of a gorilla roughly cut off at the neck.

As for believing in Father Christmas it depends what he means because every year me an’ a bunch of other people experience exactly the same ‘Christmas Energy’ *presence* we did as kids.

A few of us even experience the same ‘Easter Energy’ *presence* we did as kids so maybe the Easter Bunny’s real afterall.

  15. pogsquatch responds:

Harley shot a video of 2 Ogopogos that’s pretty convincing as well. Some folks just have a knack for hooking up with the para/crypto-normal. He was one.

Sorry. Comments have been closed.
