A new book about Champ!
Water Horse Of Lake Champlain by Katy Elizabeth.
This book is about the possible existence of the infamous lake monster known as “Champ” that calls Lake Champlain its home, this creature has been seen by numerous eyewitnesses, it has been sighted more then 600 times since 1609.
About the author:
Katy Elizabeth was born in Warwick Rhode Island, an avid competitor in Equestrian competition she has won numerous championships in Show Jumping competitions on the east coast, she is also a competitor on the beauty pageant circuit and has won many national titles such as Miss New England East Coast USA and most recently Miss North-East America .Katy has been studying the existence of Champ since a child, as one of the youngest and most recent Cryptozoologists, she made her life long dream into reality when she had her own sighting and experiences of this elusive creature on Lake Champlain, it prompted her to start her own non-profit group called “Champ Search”, the groups goal is to study, investigate and prove the existence of unique animals that inhabit New York and Vermont’s beautiful Lake Champlain.

I hope one can’t judge this book by it’s cover because of the many things Champ could be, a plesiosaur isn’t one of them – even minus the very unlikely dorsal fin. I suspect the cover art is meant as a sales draw…the purpose of most cover art I guess.
Hi Kellie, I have a crypto-artist friend of mine do the illustrations, I don’t believe Champ to have a dorsal fin, as I had my own sighting and just saw a black hump come up to the surface, just happened to like the illustration. 🙂

My remark was with tongue firmly in cheek…I have been a professional artist for over 35 years and I’m very aware of the impact of cover art in bringing interest for sales. The illustration is nice at any rate. I also have been to Champlain over the years, both when I was a child in the fifties and later on visits as an adult in the eighties but – no luck in seeing anything but a very large and beautiful lake. Dorsal fin aside, as an eyewitness, do you think that Champ is a surviving or evolved plesiosaur? The problems with that scenario are many and daunting…
