Champ Search Goals

Posted by: Katy Elizabeth on June 11th, 2015

The goal that is most important to us is to Protect these animals in Lake Champlain. Champ animals since they Echolocate, have a high sense of hearing range therefore.. Blasting ultrasonic sound (not a standard fish finder) or Blasting loud Music into the water is invasive and in our opinion harassment. There is a passive approach.

July 31 of last year we recorded Echolocation of an unknown animal. We did not have to do anything but sit and wait..it is all about patience and spending the time.

Champ is protected by law in both New York and Vermont therefore any harassment in any way, shape or form is against the law.

It is our job to protect these animals and we will make sure they are protected.

Katy Elizabeth About Katy Elizabeth
Katy Elizabeth was born in Warwick, Rhode Island. Katy has been studying the existence of Champ since a child. As one of the youngest and most recent Cryptozoologists, she made her life long dream into reality when she had her own sighting and experiences of this elusive creature on Lake Champlain. It prompted her to start her own non-profit group called “Champ Search”. The group's goal is to study, investigate and prove the existence of unique animals that inhabit New York and Vermont’s beautiful Lake Champlain. She is the author of the books Water Horse Of Lake Champlain and Water Horse Of Lake Champlain II available on amazon.com.

What animals might those be? Undocumented cryptids? At least Undocumented Americans actually are proven to exist. Easy gesture to protect animals that may not be. Please don’t get me wrong, I want there to be Champs as much as anyone but…lets find one first. I doubt that a whaling catcher ship will head into Lake Champlain to shoot a harpoon gun at a Champ if one is actually proven to be living there.

If you’re referring to my research at the lake Champlain this year, rest assured that any underwater audio broadcasting will be well below the acoustic levels already produced by motor and jet drive boats. Motorboats can be heard up to a mile away using standard hydrophone technology. I will also be documenting the acoustic return of the newer high definition fish finders that operate in the83/200/455 and 800kHz frequency. My research at the lake this year will be noninvasive out of respect for the entire ecosystem of the lake.

as much as I WANT to believe all this champ stuff…. unfortunately this makes zero sense the champ thing when you think about it for a bit.

if something was really there…. what does it feed on?

how does it survive for hundreds of years of “sightings”?

there would have to be a breeding population of x amount of them to survive.

then the question is… how do they sustain themselves and eat all the food?

then… if the mansi photo is real… that thing breathes air…. fish don’t come up like that and stay out of the water. eels don’t either. whales breathe air and MUST surface frequently…. yet champ doesn’t.

how do you LOGICALLY explain that?

    You can’t.

if it uses echo location… it would seem to be a mammal… but then see above comment.

    makes no sense.

plus with all the boating action on the lake… how would these things not get randomly hit.

manatee’s get hit down here in fla all the time from boats.

far too many questions and nowhere near enough answers.

but VERRRY interesting to find out the answers for sure. 🙂

This letter is directed to anyone who has an interest in the creature/creatures commonly known as Champ that may inhabit the waters of Lake Champlain. I would like to set the record straight in exactly what research we “two people” will be conducting for two weeks at Lake Champlain this summer. All the research undertaken will be passive, as I stated earlier to Kate Elizabeth on her Cryptomundo FB post on June 11th 2015. Below are some of the concerns raised by Kate Elizabeth and Dennis Hall.
Here is the link to her post.

Yes, we will be introducing sounds into the water made my many marine mammals in hopes of peaking the subject’s curiosity so they may come close to investigate the source of these sounds so we can obtain photographs. By no means will I allow the audio levels to be any higher than those produced by common boat motors already in use at the lake. I will take underwater sound readings of boat motors using a hydrophone to establish a safe broadcast volume to play the marine mammal sounds. As many of you may already know, boat motors and propeller cavitations produce sounds underwater, the sounds I produce will be below those levels. If music is introduced into the water it will be at much lower levels than the volume of party boats found on the lake, I value any animals hearing and my own.
The underwater lighting system that will be used on the boat is produced by white LEDs, these lamps are already sold in the luxury boat market and are installed in the boats transom and hull to produce soft lighting effects around the boat. The light produced only carries 10 to 20 feet depending on water clarity. Fish are drawn to the light, I think out of curiosity, and provide fun viewing to the boats occupants. The lighting system I will be using is a standard off the shelf product that is currently being used on boats all around the world.
The gentleman that was going to fish the deep areas of the lake for any large species of fish won’t be there this year. There are thousands of people fishing that lake every month, he would have been no different than them. We will also be documenting the recent discovery of the location of the Mansi photograph. I won’t go into detail, but working with others from around the world, the location of the Mansi photograph may have recently been discovered. All the pieces of the puzzle fit, it just needs to be documented and we will do that during our visit.
My research at the lake this year will be noninvasive out of respect for the Champ creatures and entire ecosystem of the lake.
For those that do not know me, I am a very passive soul with the curiosity of an eager 10 year old explorer, please note I said “explorer”, not hunter. I am not out to harm any living thing as we all share this planet and need to pass it forward in better shape than we found it for our grandchildren and their grandchildren.
To prove my commitment to the research, anyone who is interested in being part of this summer’s research on the boat, please contact me so we can schedule a time to meet along the shores of the lake or a marina so you can take part in this interesting research. By the way, the 30 foot research vessel is named, eXplorer. The upper case X is for the many unknown mysterious creatures yet to be discovered by this and future generations.
I hope this letter helps clarify our research at the lake this summer.

    Thank you.
