A lady from Rampart was kidnapped by “Bushmen”, according to the account, who then took her to their cave where she took care of their sick baby as shown above in the illustration.
Here is one from Rampart. It is one of the strangest Hairy Man stories ever told. The story is also told by Norma Cobb, in her book, “Arctic Homestead.”
In the interior of Alaska, the Hairy Man is known as the “Bushman”. There was an elderly woman who was known as a medicine woman because of her experience as a young girl.
She was out picking berries with others near Rampart when she was kidnapped by a Bushman. She was taken into the wilderness and brought to a cave, where she saw other members of the Hairy Man’s family or group.
In that cave, there were both male and female Hairy Man people, and even young ones. They were hairy and wore no clothes, and smelled badly. But one of the babies of the Hairy Man people was very sick.
Then she learned somehow that she had been taken and brought to the Bushman’s cave to help take care of the sick baby. They spoke to her without talking. She learned the Hairy Man people thought a human would help make the baby well, and that was why they took her.
After a time, the baby Bushman finally recovered, and after that they let her go because they thought she had helped make the baby get well. They also let her go as long as she didn’t tell anyone where they lived. They then brought her back to her village.
In “Arctic Homestead”, the author adds that the Bushman told the young girl they are afraid of showing themselves to humans, because humans chase them and shoot at them. That’s why they demanded she tell no one where they lived.

LOL… i seriously doubt this story… sounds like something made up from a mentally ill person.
The day you break this obnoxious character you’ve constructed for yourself, I will probably be startled to death.
Craig, I know you will probably delete this. I understand. I just had to finally say what must be said.
Cool drawing though, right?
I thought this was very insightful. I have always felt that the hairy people are just that people. Misunderstood. the Natives have been talking about them for years.
ok… so where is the evidence? a bone? hair? photo? video? an old shelter? they eat don’t they? they leave a mess… i mean they don’t have a trash service coming every thursday to pickup their trash.
a 500-800 lb animal will crap like a mofo… where’s that?
goodfoot… no clue wtf you are talking about dude… burden of proof is on everyone who’s running around saying they are real.
if they are, as you say… PROVE IT.
I don’t have to.
YOU DO.
I’ll be the first to jump on that bandwagon when I see real legit proof… so far freeman video and PG are the only 2 things I would even say COULD be real… but even they have a lot of questions and doubters.
I just feel bad for all these mentally ill people who aren’t getting treatment… they’re obviously seeing things that aren’t there and concocting these wild stories out of their imaginations.
show me the proof and i’m a 100% believer.
all one has to do is look through this site and see the enormity of the fake videos, photos and stories with zero evidence and the absurd belief in something that has virtually zero proof.
LOL fairly people… misunderstood? WTF are you talking about? show me these people. show me. you can’t so you’re making stuff up in your head that isn’t real. LOL
dconstrukt: I know what you mean. Crazy, superstitious Indians, huh?
there’s too many holes in this and other stories… more than swiss cheese. 🙂
I think many of their stories aren’t meant to be taken literally… but people do…
if one can answer them logically i’m game.
if there’s real proof these things are real, like I said I WANT to believe… I really do….i keep telling you guys since I saw the PG film as a kid and read about this stuff in books as young kid… I WANT this to be real.
but the more you see, the more you read, the more details you pickup…. it just becomes more and more outlandish and unlikely…. if all these hoaxes didn’t exists you’d probably be more likely to believe… but 95% of the stuff we see (on here and elsewhere) is garbage. Only a bumbling idiot would believe some of these things… (like the skunk ape video breakdown post a few posts up).
in a month I’ll b taking a 3 day expidition to port Chatham/ port lock Alaska its rooted with gory hairy man history it’s worth a Google . Only accessible by landing crafts…. I tried to hike/atv there it’s about 50 miles from my home McDonald spit. Was not possible. To rough terrain. And I was scared. Being alone. The story’s tell of people being found torn and several ton logging equipment toppled over them. I’ve herd some relly strange howls and found a 11 in print almost identical to my own deep in uninhabited areas near port Chatham I hope get some closure for myself go pro trail cam everything hopefully have something to show yall.
