Know what I am beyond sick of? Skeptics telling me that the thing this scientist matter-of-factly told us *is* happening *isn’t* happening.
Stop trying to make the evidence say something other than it does. If you can prove that enforced silence isn’t helping keep this topic out of the mainstream discussion, prove it. Otherwise…please can the comedy.
You can get a hallelujah, amen from me too. The fact is, with shows like Finding Bigfoot and Mountain Monsters, that is getting it mainstreamed into the every day Joe’s attention. Now do I think these shows have any merit beyond that? Nope.
A good friend of mine who is only mildly interested in this stuff summed it up perfectly: if they actually find anything then there’s no show. So we get to watch 30 minutes to an hour of black and white television of people tromping through the woods listening to knocks and intelligible howls.
Back to the topic at hand–the scoftics…and yeah, I’ll continue to use that word because it differentiates the true skeptic from the people who just want to argue that black is actually white. I’m all for healthy skepticism, especially in this business, but spending your time just trying to hold a high school debate to prove your own side isn’t what this is about.
I’m tired of the back and forth and the predominance of the conspiracy theories. Let’s just get this proved and move on. 🙂
This makes my blood boil. These bullies and these agencies must be identified and shamed. We supposedly live in a free society, with freedom of speech.
Well, Peter, John – a gentleman as always – really points out the problem, which isn’t Nefarious People but Human People Raising Families With This Job.
I don’t really know where one makes the first break in this, but it needs to continually be pushed on the scientific community that their job is providing answers; and when members of that community are vouching for the evidence, the community is not served by the status quo.
