Tomorrow night I MAY be appearing in a new episode of the Unexplained Files for Science Channel (airing @ 9pm EST). This one deals with the Mothman mystery. I was interviewed for this episode, but I’m not sure if I made the final cut. However, some of the flying humanoid witnesses that I interviewed for my new book may be featured…

Reviewed: Encounters With Flying Humanoids

A few days ago, I received a review copy of the new book from cryptozoologist Ken Gerhard. Published by Llewellyn, its title is Encounters With Flying Humanoids. Ken is the author of a number of previous books, including Monsters Are Real, Big Bird!, and (with me) Monster of Texas. And, I’m very pleased to say, the book does not disappoint. Indeed, I read the whole thing in one sitting – which is a sure sign that the book is a very good one!

Matt Bille Reviews Abominable Science

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on September 8th, 2013

Loxton and Prothero have written a very good book, which I reviewed on Amazon as a 4.5 star effort (I’ll explain why I had to downgrade it just a bit) that goes on the “must reading” list for anyone interested in cryptozoology. I’ve been following this field for decades now without seeing anything that fills this niche – that of the scientific, skeptical (in the good sense of the word) consideration of the entire field and its most spectacular maybe-creatures.

Bill Munns on Abominable Science

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on September 5th, 2013

abom_science

This book entitled “Abominable Science” achieves a level of scientific and journalistic hypocrisy that warrants the publisher recalling the book. The reason is that one of the co-authors, Daniel Loxton, has written a fairly substantial portion of this book practicing the very “abominable science” the book proportedly sets out to expose. In other words, he has demonstrated a journalistic or scientific hypocrisy that is either grossly negligent, grossly incompetent, or so blatantly biased that he humiliates the scientific process and journalistic professionalism alike.
