Posted by: Monster Island News on July 12th, 2010

Russia’s answer to the Loch Ness Monster, ‘Nesski’, seems to have one habit that it’s Scottish cousin doesn’t.

Eating fisherman.

THE LEGEND OF THE LOVELAND FROGMEN – Premiere Info

Posted by: Monster Island News on May 20th, 2010

Some small independent films never get the kind of grand premieres that big-budget Hollywood films do. Instead of star-studded events at the Pantages, Cinerama Dome, Egyptian or Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, these smaller films normally get their first viewing at a local movie house or drive-in.

When you are a high school film maker then, sometimes, your school auditorium will have to do.

No there won’t be any stretch limos, or A-list celebrities at the premiere of Gretchen Kessler’s, “The Legend of the Loveland Frogmen”, but if the young film maker continues on this path, they may be showing up for one or more of her films screenings in the future.

The Meyer Brothers Turn “The Legend Of Grassman” Into A Feature Film

Posted by: Monster Island News on April 29th, 2010

I know that I have really beaten the fact that there are a plethora of Bigfoot movies being made out there right now into the ground, so I’m not going to force you to mill over the ever growing list yet again.

That being said, I am going to make note of one of these films that I touched on in a prior article called “The Legend of Grassman.”

MOMO – Bigfoot Crossed With The Headless Horseman

Posted by: Monster Island News on April 28th, 2010

If I were to roll up to you on the street and ask you, “What is eight-feet-tall, covered in hair and has a head like a jack-o-lantern?”, you would think that I was about to lay some lame riddle on you, right?

That, however, would not be the case at all. I would be asking you if you had ever heard of the Momo, a Bigfoot-like monster that is a local legend in Missouri.

A Proud Canuck on Quatchi

Posted by: John Kirk on February 14th, 2010

It is utterly appropriate to have our unofficial provincial animal representing us at these games and we wouldn’t have it any other way. If we could add Ogopogo and Cadborosaurus to our mascots that would be perfect, but they will be there another day.

The Summer of Cadborosaurus and Ogopogo

Posted by: John Kirk on July 28th, 2008

It delights me no end to see the recent interest in Robyn Holman’s Ogopogo sighting and the recent article in the Victoria Times Colonist enquiring about what has happened to Cadborosaurus. Along with the efforts of British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club vice president, Jason Walton, these articles may stir up memories of people who have seen […]

Remembering Scott Norman

Posted by: John Kirk on March 1st, 2008

Loren has written a truly wonderful summary of the life of Scott Norman, our mutual friend and fellow cryptozoological investigator elsewhere here at Cryptomundo. I and all of Scott’s friends are deeply indebted to Loren for such a glowing tribute. Scott and I had been friends for 10 years and as Loren has written, we […]

Morag: The Cryptid of Loch Morar

Posted by: John Kirk on May 24th, 2007

I haven’t been to Loch Morar in Scotland. It is always that left hand turn that I miss when I travel north from southern Scotland to the Highlands. I have been to Lochs Lomond, Linnhe, Lochy, Oich, Ness and Shiel, but Morar remains on my to-do list. Elizabeth Montgomery wrote about the creature of Loch […]

Dearth of Ogopogo Sightings in Past Year

Posted by: John Kirk on May 12th, 2007

Many readers are familiar with the most famous lake cryptid in British Columbia known variously as Ogogpogo or Naitaka. There are actually more sightings reports for Ogopogo than there are for the Loch Ness unknown. However, in recent years sightings have diminished. As I spend a fair amount of my investigative work at Okanagan Lake, […]

Wild and Woolly Turkish Video Depicts Lake Van Cryptid

Posted by: John Kirk on May 7th, 2007

While sauntering through youtube.com the other day I came across a really wild video in Turkish all about the mysterious cryptid of Lake Van. I have to say that it was mind blowing to watch what appears to be a movie prop monster cruising the lake as well as appearing to eat a diver. There […]
