For one night only, October 17, 2011, the Hollywood Theatre brings you “Not Your Typical Bigfoot Movie,” followed by a special panel of local Bigfoot researchers and moderated by Sarah Mirk of the Mercury. The panel will feature Thom Powell, author of “The Shady Neighbors,” and Guy Edwards, founder and editor of the Bigfoot Lunch Club.

Every year over the Labor Day weekend the Bigfoot Capital of the World, Willow Creek, California, celebrates the town’s community and the icon that has made a name for it during Bigfoot Days. This year is the fifty-first anniversary of the event.

On Saturday, July 9, Fireman Dan’s Sports Lounge in Sussex, NJ will host the first ever Festival of the Big Red Eye. This outdoor event is designed to entertain and inform the world of a Bigfoot type creature that has been known to roam the hills of northern New Jersey. The day will be celebrated with live music, great food, vendors, speakers, and special guests. A documentary film crew, working on an upcoming release, will be on site and Weird NJ will lend a hairy hand for the day’s festivities.

Henry Bauer has something in common with me, and most probably with you — he’s never seen the Loch Ness Monster.
In his case, however, it isn’t from lack of trying. The Virginia Tech science professor emeritus has made a number of trips to Scotland hoping to catch a glimpse of the world’s most elusive aquatic beast, only to be disappointed. But not disheartened.
