Animal Planet to Debut New Series About Not Finding Bigfoot

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on May 13th, 2011

I’ve been fascinated by the subject of Sasquatch my entire life. I’ve probably read more books about Bigfoot than most people even know exist. There was a time when TV shows about Bigfoot fascinated me; that was until I noticed a trend of them never finding a damn thing. Will Animal Planet’s “Finding Bigfoot” continue or end the trend?Foywonder

Long-Time Bigfooter and Cryptozoologist, Richard “Rip” Lyttle

Posted by: Steven Streufert on April 5th, 2011

Periodically, Bigfoot’s bLog conducts lengthy email interviews with prominent and interesting figures in the Bigfooting world, trying to get to the bottom of the personal aspects of The Quest for our favorite Hairy Hominoid. Richard “Rip” Lyttle, originally from Maryland, has spent so much time in the woods, seeking Bigfoot and the elusive, once-“extinct” Ivory-Billed Woodpecker, that his personality and ideas sometimes seem to have blended with the nature of his quarry. Read an excerpt here featuring one of Rip’s Bigfoot encounters. Find links to the full interview and photos here as well.

Beast Hunter Pat Spain Interviewed on Weirld.com

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on March 12th, 2011

Looking a bit like Justin Timberlake with an easy grin and an enthusiasm that’s infectious, Pat Spain is a wildlife scientist with a special interest in crypto-zoological creatures, ones that may or may not exist, and he’s traveled the globe to investigate them for the new National Geographic Channel series Beast Hunter, premiering Mar. 4. Having grown up the middle of three kids in Wynantskill, New York and earned his Bachelor of Science from Suffolk University in Boston, Spain created a Web series called Nature Calls in 2005, which ultimately put him on Nat Geo’s radar. “I’m so excited to be doing this and it means a lot that other people are getting interested in it too,” he says. He had a lot more to say in the following conversation.
