Errol and his friend were hitch hiking North along the Pacific Hwy between Ballina and Bangalow late at night.
Suddenly they hear bipedal footsteps following them and walking in unison with their steps. Scared, they stop and listen. The creature walks ahead before walking out onto the road in front of them.

For hundreds of years, the marshes of Louisiana have been plagued by mysterious creatures intent on causing mass destruction. Some believe that these creatures are ones of mythical ancestry. Others believe there are more scientific explanations for the increased levels of destruction in the area over the years. Whose theories will be proven true? Featuring some familiar faces from Shark Week 2013‘s successful special Voodoo Sharks, Discovery Channel ventures deep into the bayou to explore all possible scenarios in its all new program, Beasts of the Bayou, premiering on July 10 at 10 PM ET/PT.

A very considerable number of unicorn varieties have been differentiated in legends and folklore from around the world – everything from shape-shifting were-unicorns, carnivorous rabbit unicorns, polar bear unicorns with glowing horns, web-footed unicorns, swivel-horned unicorns, and man-eating unicorns with musical horns, to unicorn birds, unicorn snakes, unicorn snails, unicorn pigs, artificially-induced unicorns, and even two-horned unicorns (surely a contradiction in terms!).

In my previous ShukerNature blog article on Cryptomundo, I documented a remarkable drawing by the late artist Jean Claude Thibault, a Frenchman resident for many years in the Central African Republic (CAR). It depicts what appears to be the mysterious emela-ntouka or ‘killer of elephants’ – a horned aquatic cryptid also reported elsewhere in Africa under such names as the chipekwe and irizima. Moreover, this was just one of four pictures depicting intriguing CAR entities that had been drawn by Thibault (sometime during the early 1990s or late 1980s).

The idea for this series of novels came from the Nightstalker television series, which many of us grew up watching (Chris Carter’s amazing television show The X-files also found its inspiration in the weekly horror exploits of Darren McGavin’s Karl Kolchak).

In the middle of the night near a remote camping area deep in the mountains of the Barrington Tops, the camper witnesses up to 7 Yowies as she watches through the mesh of her tent. The large Yowies seem to be play fighting, while the younger ones throw rocks at the ground.
This encounter lasted 15 minutes before they returned to the tree line and disappeared.
