Are there any Cryptomundians who actually watch this show? Or who watch it other than for an occasional laugh when the reality TV stars on it say some ridiculously scripted line?

I wonder if including episode synopses of Mountain Monsters has any positive impact at all for either Cryptomundo or cryptozoology in general. There certainly are industries where the adage “all news is good news” applies – reality TV shows and their often-trashy stars are a prime example of this. However, in any scientific field, reputation and credibility mean everything and cryptozoology does not have a surplus of either that can be watered down by heavily scripted and sensationalized reality TV shows with no consequence. I doubt that including references to Mountain Monsters adds anything positive to this website.

Alternatively, if the site continues to feature these synopses of the Mountain Monster and Killing Bigfoot episodes, perhaps they ought to be introduced with some sort of disclaimer to indicate that Cryptomundo does not take them seriously, say “In tonight’s episode of sensationalized reality TV show Mountain Monsters….”

    What do other people think?

Or am I just touchy about possibly being judged kooky for my interest in this field, notwithstanding my reasonable degree of skepticism, largely by dismissive people who themselves believe in an all-powerful invisible friend based on Bronze and Iron Age mythology for which there’s been not a scintilla of actual proof for over a millennia….
