Monsters and Mysteries in America
Season 3 Premieres This Saturday, January 17 at 9/8c on Destination America
In communities across America, local legends passed tell of monsters hunting nearby woodlands, ancient spirits walking amongst the living, and alien creatures paying earth a visit. But these aren’t just your scout master’s campfire tales. In Monsters and Mysteries in America, hear directly from everyday people who have had close encounters with real-life folktale fiends.
In the season 3 premiere, the infamous Men in Black have been spotted around the world, suppressing witnesses and destroying evidence. Are they government agents or something more sinister? Stories included in this episode:
• Beginning in the 1940s, G-Men clad in black suits show up shortly after UFO sightings. Their goal: to keep people from talking, no matter what.
• Not all of the Men in Black are believed to be human. One family in West Virginia details their encounters with the “grinning man” – Indrid Cold – a being of extraterrestrial origins and impressive telepathic power.
• Others have claimed encounters with the Men in Black described as demonic. One man recalls such a visit by a black-clad emissary of the devil, a being capable of adapting to any surroundings, bent on obscuring the truth and threatening anyone who gets too close.
