The famous “Mansi photo” of the Lake Champlain monster has been held up for decades as strong proof for cryptozoology—the so-called best evidence for the existence of a hidden animal. Yet, newly uncovered documents reveal troubling questions about the photo and the circumstances surrounding it.

I’m proud to announce that my new book, Lizard Man: The True Story of the Bishopville Monster, is now available from Anomalist Books.
As with my previous book, The Beast of Boggy Creek, I offer an in-depth look at one of the most bizarre and hair-raising cases of an unknown creature. Surprisingly though, encounters with these unnatural entities continue into modern times. Here, then, is my top ten list of the winged creatures that have most captured the public’s imagination in recent years.
