Monsters No Longer Have Cooties!

They’re in, they’re hip, and suddenly (after thousands of years) they rule pop culture. Up until recently, telling someone you were into monsters and cryptozoology was not a shortcut to popularity. But things are changing. Monsters are taking over TV, starring in more movies, as well as appearing on beer labels and hipster T-shirts. And since monsters are now cool, that means the people who look for them are cool, too. Right?

One of the core presentations from the Yakima Bigfoot Round-Up, a tribute conference held in Yakima, WA on October 10, 11 & 12, 2014. The conference and tribute banquet were held to pay tribute to the Pioneers of Bigfoot/Sasquatch Research. These included Bob Gimlin, Roger Patterson, Jerry Crew, Al Hodgson, Grover Krantz and Al Berry.

Reminder: 2nd Annual Boggy Creek Festival Today

The 2nd Annual Boggy Creek Festival is today Oct 25, 2014 in Fouke, Arkansas. Fouke is, of course, home of the infamous Legend of Boggy Creek. The purpose of the event is to bring together the local community and to share information about the sasquatch-like creature that has been sighted in the area for over a century. The festival features local arts and crafts, music, entertainment, food vendors, and presentations by local bigfoot researchers.

Camping at the Miller County Fairgrounds will be open starting Friday Oct 24, while the main event will happen Sat Oct 25 along Fouke’s main strip just off Highway 71 and Main Street. (Just come to Fouke and you can’t miss it!)
