The team travels half way across the world to investigate recent reports of Australia’s yowie, a creature similar to sasquatch in both appearance and behavior. They traverse deep into the jungle in hopes of proving bigfoot’s cousin down under is real.

The search is on for a legendary character with plenty of bulk and facial hair, and we’re not talking Santa. Matthew Moneymaker, co-host of Animal Planet’s Finding Bigfoot, says the creatures have been seen in every state but Hawaii, “in places where there are enough deer to feed on.” The Bigfoot Field Research Organization president is used to skeptics but believes Bigfoot is a descendant of an Asian relative of the orangutan. He shares with Larry Bleiberg for USA TODAY some spots where the hominids may live.

For generations, tales of a creature called the mapinguari have been passed down among Amazonian villagers. They describe a tall, shaggy beast that attacks with little warning, calling out with a deafening roar. In the world’s largest rainforest, new species are discovered every few days, and after hearing stories from villagers who claim they came face to face with the creature, Richard Terry tries to determine whether the mapinguari is more than a myth.

This interesting clip of video was obtained by a father and son team from Florida on May 8, 2012, sometime between midnight and 1 am. Stacy Brown Sr. and Jr. are the minds behind the website, The Sasquatch Hunters. The two men were bigfooting somewhere on the panhandle of Florida around the town of Quincy on the night they got their footage.

The crew travels to Oklahoma to investigate evidence that could be bigfoot DNA. Hanging on the results of this breakthrough, the team takes to the waterways of Oklahoma City, where many residents claim to have recently seen a bigfoot.
