Bridge Name Game: Reeves/McDaniel

Posted by: Loren Coleman on August 5th, 2007

August 1, 2007: The I-35W Bridge collapses. Taking a couple Fortean and Mothman sidetreks, here is more pondering in the wake of the I-35W Bridge collapse. While reading the accounts about the fall of the Minnesota bridge, I noticed two names popped up, Reeves and McDaniel. Hang in here with me as I let that […]

A bridge over the Mississippi River has fallen. The I-35 W is visible as one of the darker (thus wider) bridges on this map, and is labeled. It is seen near the Gasworks Area and the Bohemian Flats. As it gets near 10 pm EDT, the wire services are saying seven people are reported dead […]

Flying Humanoids Filmed Over Mexican Skies

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on July 31st, 2007

I’m not sure what to make of this… Testimony from dozens of persons and police officers depict seeing what appear to be witches flying through the skies of remote Mexican towns. Several people videotaped the strange phenomenon. The creatures appear to infest the skies over an old cemetery.

Mothman Deaths Keep Away No One

Posted by: Loren Coleman on July 24th, 2007

Anniversaries are those logical points on the calendar when we all naturally think about events that may have been too overwhelming to have sink too deeply into our psyche at the time. How Big is the Cryptozoology Community?

Posted by: Loren Coleman on July 19th, 2007

My late friend, colleague, and mentor, Ivan T. Sanderson, shown above with a lemur in his private zoo, was one of the first in America to try to organize those interested in cryptozoology into a formal “society.” What does his legacy look like today? Matt Bille asked me a simple question: “How big is the […]

Editor Says: “Towns…Make Fortunes Selling Bigfoot”

Posted by: Loren Coleman on June 17th, 2007

People get the craziest ideas in their heads about all of the money supposedly flowing from “selling” Bigfoot and other cryptozoological monsters. What might be the source of such thoughts? Well, that would be the general media, of course. Take Dwain Walden, who is the editor/publisher of The Moultrie Observer, in Moultrie, Georgia. Apparently bored […]

The company, Haunted Heartland Tours, has cancelled their Mothman Prophecy Tour, scheduled for June 9-10, 2007. No reason is given for the cancellation. Perhaps there were not enough registrations? Or, hopefully, there’s not a sinister event behind the cancellation. Of course, since it was a “prophecy” event, they must have known this was going to […]
