2014 Arkansas Bigfoot Conference Postponed

While I was in Ohio and the Ohio Bigfoot Conference was drawing to a close, we heard the news of devastating tornadoes in Central Arkansas.

One of the towns hit hard was Vilonia, AR, the site of what was to be the inaugural Arkansas Bigfoot Conference this coming weekend.

New York University anthropologist Todd Disotell, who recently appeared on Spike- TV’s “$10 Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty”, will deliver “DNA and the Search for Elusive Creatures,” on Wed., April 30, 4:30 p.m. at NYU’s Center for Genomics and Systems Biology (CGSB) Auditorium (12 Waverly Place, between Greene and Mercer Streets).

For the filmmakers overseeing such a complex operation, there was perhaps nothing more challenging or exhilarating than the creation of its main event. “Toho had given us their blessing to re-envision the character, but it was equally important to us as well as Toho that Godzilla look like Godzilla,” Tull says. “We wanted to bring him into contemporary reality while not steering too far from the classic silhouette that so many of us grew up with, and Gareth and the entire team walked that line with passion and inspiration.”

An 80-foot eating machine that’s neither fish nor mammal, the relentless beast wreaks havoc in the already-complicated lives of several disparate people: a former Olympic fencing champion turned small town sheriff, a conservationist/marine biologist and a psychotic politician. Some other Mesozoic dietary staples of this monster make cameos along the way, as well as some familiar “sea monsters” of modern oceans.
