It was bad enough to see them terrorizing Florida, Oregon, Washington State, Alaska and the other places visited in Season 1 by the sasquatch hunters of “Finding Bigfoot,” a documentary series on Animal Planet. But the opening episode of Season 2 on Sunday night finds the investigators just a few hairy strides from New York City. How would you like to be jostling for a seat on the subway with a cranky, possibly fictitious 10-foot biped who hasn’t had his morning coffee yet?New York Times

During the series premiere, called “Baby Bigfoot,” the quartet of investigators head to the Catskills in New York near Poughkeepsie to provide in-depth analysis of 15-year-old video footage from 1997 that indicates a juvenile or baby sasquatch could have been in the area at the time.

The popular Animal Planet show, Finding Bigfoot, recently invaded our sleepy little mountain town. Willow Creek often bustles with Squatching enthusiasts, but the last month or so has been simply ridiculous. What Mecca is to Islam, what Jerusalem is to those other religions, this place seems to be for Bigfooters. It was a fun time had by all, but also an interesting view into the process of “Reality” TV production. Bob Gimlin, Al Hodgson, Jerry Crew’s sons and many others were there. Read more…

This fall, the Bigfoot Field Research Organization (BFRO) team from Animal Planet’s FINDING BIGFOOT trudges deep into California’s Redwood forest to investigate one of the most infamous and disputed pieces of Bigfoot evidence ever – the Patterson-Gimlin footage. Premiering Sunday, October 30, at 9 PM (ET/PT), the two-hour special FINDING BIGFOOT: BIRTH OF A LEGEND takes viewers to the site where the notorious footage was captured to investigate the elusive beast’s existence and settle the more than 50-year-old debate originated by the tape.
