Meldrum on Killer Russian Yeti

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on May 30th, 2014

Ever hear about a mass murder and think, huh, I wonder if a yeti did it? Okay, probably not your first conclusion. Or second. Or fifty-fifth. But that was the one explorer Mike Libecki found himself drawn to in investigating the cold case of the Dyatlov Incident, a journey documented in “Russian Yeti: The Killer Lives” (a two-hour special premiering on Discovery Sun. June 1 at 9:00 p.m.). Crazy, right? Well, hold on a minute.

It’s Blacksploitation Bigfoot in “Yeti: Giant of the 20th Century”

Posted by: Monster Island News on March 29th, 2014

There has never been a Bigfoot like this! Styled after the legendary 1976 King Kong remake, this little known import finds a group of scientists and explorers tinkering with mother nature when they stumble upon a centuries-old yeti in the frozen tundra. Of course, their first instinct is to thaw out the savage Sasquatch and profit from him in the name of research and entertainment. But this hairy giant has other plans, and like his cinematic cousin Kong, he’s looking to grab the girl, climb the tallest skyscraper and smash the city to shreds. This snowman is ready to kick major ice!

“And You Can Bet Your Last Money, It’s Gonna Be A Stone Gas, Honey!” -Don Cornelius

Two Yeti Corpses – Mummified But Missing?

Posted by: Karl Shuker on October 22nd, 2013

As reported by Heuvelmans, myself, and others, back in 1953 a Tibetan lama called Chemed Rigdzin Dorje Lopu announced that he had personally examined the mummified bodies of two yetis – one at the monastery at Riwoche in the Tibetan province of Kham, the other in the monastery at Sakya, southern Tibet.

According to Heuvelmans’s account of this lama’s very interesting claim:

They were enormous monkeys about 2.40 m high. They had thick flat skulls and their bodies were covered with dark brown hair about 3 to 5 cm long. Their tails were extremely short.Bernard Heuvelmans

The Quest for the Yeti

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on October 15th, 2013

The Quest for the Yeti will describe Sykes’ hunt for genetic traces of species whose existence remains scientifically unconfirmed, including the Yeti, the Sasquatch and Big Foot. For the most part the samples he has tracked down for analysis have turned out to be known species such as humans, bears or apes; however two samples taken towards the end of his quest will “change our understanding of human history”.

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on September 13th, 2013

Sir David said that the Himalayan forests which cover over 14,000 square miles could easily contain a Yeti.

“If there are some still alive and you walked near their habitat you can bet that these creatures may be aware of you, but you wouldn’t be aware of them,” he added.
