Thom Powell: Hillsdale’s Sasquatch Expert

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on June 5th, 2013

Thom Powell has taught at Robert Gray Middle School for nearly three decades. He is a tall, gray man with a raspy voice and a disarmingly piercing gaze. Though his appearance is domineering and almost off-putting, his students know better. They flock to his classroom as soon as the bell rings, vying for his attention to their preteen attempts at sarcasm and deadpan. Powell meets them bit for bit, speaking with complete candor to his 14-year-old pupils. Truly, he is a gentle giant, and so, he says, is the Sasquatch.

Dr. Matthew Johnson: The Guttenberg Press, Wittenberg Door, and Facebook

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on June 3rd, 2013

Until recently, Bigfootdom has been controlled by the “Good Ol’ Boys” network. In the past, they controlled the popular Bigfoot Forums, Conferences, Back Room Politics, etc. Then that silly Facebook thing came along in 2004 and revolutionized the world, including Bigfootdom.

All Bigfooters were finally freed up to network with other Bigfooters who shared similar theories, methodologies, and experiences. Reports of unusual Bigfoot encounters were no longer allowed to be swept under the carpet or deep-sixed into the garbage can because the witnesses reported experiences did not fit into the closed-minded, small, rigid box of the “Gigantopithecus Theory.” They could no longer threaten to burn Galileo at the stake.

Supernatural Creep: The Slippery Slope to Unfalsifiability

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on May 31st, 2013

Science does not address “supernatural” claims – it must stay within natural laws and can only test that which obeys natural laws. Sharon Hill has a new piece about slipping into supernatural means when natural explanations no longer seem to suffice, especially in cases of “high strangeness”.

She discusses how the Bigfoot community is split between those that think the explanation is a flesh and blood creature and those who think the answer is beyond the normal. Also mentioned is the Beast of the Gevaudan, the Yowie and phantom black dogs. How can glowing eyes and resistance to bullets be explained? Or are researchers going down the completely wrong path.

Unleashing Monster Files

“…For absolutely decades, rumors, tales and legends have surfaced to the effect that government agencies – all around the world and since at least the early to mid 1800s onwards – have been secretly collecting and carefully studying data on bizarre beasts, extraordinary animals, and strange creatures…”

Chris Murphy’s Sasquatch Mystery Museum Exhibit

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on May 22nd, 2013

Long-time sasquatch researcher and friend, Chris Murphy has recently built a virtual museum exhibition on the Sasquatch Canada website. As always, Chris has supplied excellent information and rare photographs and documents for our enjoyment.

Much of the information and archive photographs came directly from the godfather of modern bigfooting himself, John Green. Of particular interest to many will be John’s photographs from Blue Creek Mountain track event, as well as many significant footprints in the ground before they were cast. These include the Skeena River prints, Onion Mountain print, Hyampom print, and Cripple Foot prints.

Besides the prints, there are archives on the topic of bigfoot vocalizations, the Skookum Cast, Native tales, hand prints, the Patterson/Gimlin Film, and others. For any bigfooter, the website is a treasure trove of historical archives.

James “Bobo” Fay with some serious wood knockin’ sticks This is a report that was published in Ray Crowe’s Track Record in 2001. Bobo may have at one time gone by Jay instead of James, I don’t know, he has always been Bobo to me. I think the age is incorrectly reported as well. Regardless […]
