Steller’s Secret Fauna – Gargantuan Sea-Cows, Inaccessible Sea-Ravens, and Bewhiskered Sea-Monkeys

Dr Georg Wilhelm Steller was a German physician and naturalist participating during the early 1740s in the last of Danish explorer Vitus Bering’s Russian expeditions to the Arctic waters (now called the Bering Sea) separating Siberia’s Kamchatka Peninsula from Alaska. During this expedition, Steller documented many new species of animal, including four very contentious forms that continue to arouse cryptozoological curiosity even today.

Has The San Francisco Bay Monster Returned?

Many of you may be surprised to learn that people have been seeing something that resembles “The Loch Ness Monster” in the San Francisco Bay since the 1800s. Indeed there are hundreds of forms of marine animals and fish that call the area home and, reportedly, some form(s) of aquatic dinosaur(s) may be among their ranks.

For Bill and Bob Clark there is no doubt about it. Since their first encounter with one of these relics from the prehistoric past in 1985 the brothers have seen such creatures several times and cataloged numerous sightings from other eye witnesses.

Crabzilla or Claws?

A photo depicting what appears to be a 50-foot crab hanging out near a wharf in Kent, England, started making the rounds on the Internet earlier this week. The photo was featured on a local curiosities site called Weird Whitstable, and eventually dubbed “Crabzilla.”
